A House Oversight and Accountability subcommittee this week will probe the Biden administration’s energy actions and the reliability of the nation’s electrical grid.
The hearing of the Subcommittee on Energy and Economic Growth, titled “The Power Struggle: Examining the Reliability and Security of America’s Electric Grid,” is being billed as an opportunity to hold the Biden administration accountable “for its radical, anti-American energy and environmental policies” impacting Americans nationwide.
In a recent interview, subcommittee Chair Pat Fallon (R-Texas) underscored his belief that fossil fuels will continue to be burned for years to come.
“On the energy piece, what I want is a realistic approach,” Fallon said. “And for me that’s an all-of-the-above approach. Because it’s wonderful to say we might need less fossil fuels in 10 years … but it’s highly likely we’re going to be using fossil fuels in 2033. Whether that’s good or bad, it’s going to happen.”
