President Joe Biden’s fiscal 2025 budget proposal makes it clear to congressional leaders that the administration wants to continue supporting clean energy production and climate change mitigation.
While the aspirational blueprint won’t get support from the Republican-controlled House, its proposals to boost funding for a range of energy and environment programs add momentum to his broader push to cut greenhouse gas emissions, create jobs in the clean energy space and protect federal lands and waters.
The president gave a shout-out to some of those goals in his State of the Union address last week and put those ambitions on paper with the budget’s release Monday.
“While my Administration has seen great progress since day one, there is still work to do,” Biden wrote in his budget proposal. “My Budget will help make that promise real.”
